“Who are these people?  I recognize some of them.  Am I supposed to know all of them?” These are the questions I was ascribing the imaginary visitors of the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, while preparing this installation of the 14 wheel-alone portraits drawn with “carpenter glue.”  Would the visitors be compelled to identify the pop-culture celebrities, historical figures, and anonymous characters in The Club?  Maybe.  Did they take advantage of the individual mobility of the portraits?  Definitely.  In fact, during the six weeks of the show select members of the The Club would be discovered traveling in the elevator and visiting all found of the museum floors.  Some visitors decided to enhance the portraits with added color and elements of collage.
